EMR Scanning, a Necessity in Medical Offices?

After many years working in the medical industry I know how much of a necessity EMR scanning is. When the computer system went down at the hospital last week we had no choice but to hand write everything. Having to manually fill out papers took up time that we could have otherwise spent seeing patients. Not only was our wait time longer but we had stacks of paper at the end of the day that we would still need to input into our system. Fortunately because we do use EMR scanning we did not have to worry about any files being lost. Everything we have is backed up online saving us in the end.
